Costs. $15/month. This does not include the cost of domain name registration.
Discounts. DSL and dialup customers receive a $7 monthly discount on this service. We offer discounts for quarterly (4% discount), semi-annual (8% discount) and annual (16% discount) payments.
Details. PHP, MySQL, shell access, 50 megs of disk space, web-based email management, 25 email accounts, 25 mailing lists, unlimited aliases and autoresponders, nightly webalizer log analysis.
Domain name registration. We recommend our users register their own domains. This has many benefits. It is a better deal, financially. It familiarizes the user with the processes involved with domains names, which allows them to be more self-sufficient in future domain name matters.
You can register a domain name through many, many different registrars. We highly recommend using Gandi, a French registrar with fair pricing and, more importantly, fair policies. (Gandi's contract states that you own your domain name; Verisign believes they own it.) Use the Hemp.Net Gandi ID -- BL135-GANDI -- when Gandi asks you for a technical contact.
Alternatively, we can register the domain name on your behalf for $25.
Secure server. Additional $10/month. If you're transferring sensitive data (e.g. credit cards), you need an SSL-ena bled server. You will need to get an SSL certificate for $50. We obtain secure certificates through instantssl.com.
